woodceramics

Wood ceramic is the result of a material inspired process,
which deals with the composition of controverse materials. A combination of the traditional technology of ceramic manufacturing and the characteristics of natural wood conclude in biomorphous ceramics.
This new material conserve the textural composition of plants in ceramic.
The combination opens up a new world of design potentials. Biomorphous ceramics can be used, for example, in the improvment of technological systems.
The work developed within a group project supervised by Prof. Dr. Holzbach (HfG Offenbach am Main) in cooperation with Saint Gobain and Fraunhofer ISC.
